Engagement and Crossfit

Well we asked our friend Sarah if she would be willing to snap a few photos for fun! And since we love to crossfit and love to be with each other, what a better way to capture the moment then at the gym!

The future Mr. & Mrs Yzaguirre!!!!

Oh my goodness...it use to be "are you guys engaged yet?" "Come on Tim, what are you waiting for!" Now it's..."when's the date?" "Where are you getting married?" "Have you reserved a place yet?"

Well this engagement experience is going to be stress free! And very "non-traditional." It will also not be a long engagement! :)

Tim and I will begin planning soon, but with the mindset of "no credit cards, no debt!" That is our sole mentality, which we plan to continue in our marriage. I believe we can have all the bells and whistles, without it being crazy expensive and stressful. Maybe it's my 4 years of catering background, or the 7 weddings I've been in, or the 28+ weddings I have attended over the years...? But I'm not going to spend money where it's not necessary, and instead I will be put our money, where it's going to be a good investment!

The wedding will be this spring, but the date and location are still to be determined. And don't think I won't be entering my name in every wedding $$ drawing from here on out either! Hey if it's God will, maybe He'll bless me there too! But right now I have joy and excitement inside, especially while I flip thru my first "wedding" magazine and start looking at beautiful dresses!

The engagement

Oct 29th, 2011

It was a sunny day, with maple leaves all over the ground. We were getting ready to head to American Lake and watch Tim's little sister, Kristina, run in a cross country meet. I had just come out of the bathroom and was grabbing my stuff, so we could leave. Tim asked me to come over to him, in the living room of his house. I walked over and he said, "I love you." He then kissed me and gave me a hug. But he was only hugging me with one arm. I felt his other arm reaching into his pocket. He then hugged me with both arms, little did I know he was now holding a ring on his finger, but I didn't see it.

Tim then stood back, and said, "I'm ready to get married." I said, "me too." I then realized that Tim was slowly getting shorter, when I realized he was getting down on one knee, holding my ring in his hand. I of course, gasped and began crying, like every girl realizing he was FINALLY asking me. After that I don't really remember what happened, still in shock. I think I started hugging his head? But at some point Tim put the ring on my finger, and I'm sure I was shaking. I was engaged! Tim then called his parents who were anxiously waiting to hear the outcome. "We're engaged!"
